Silverthin™ Thin Section Bearing Equivalents: Crossing Silverthin Part Numbers to SlimPro

Silverthin™ thin section bearings follow the same industry-standard inch dimensions as Kaydon® Reali-Slim®, so most of them have a direct SlimPro equivalent with the same bore, outside diameter, cross section and mounting. Our interchange table lists Silverthin equivalents for 462 SlimPro sizes, in the open chrome-steel and sealed series.

How the numbers line up

Silverthin numbers use the same structure as Kaydon numbers for series, bore, type and separator. The difference is the first letters:

SilverthinSlimPro equivalentWhat it is
SA020XP0SP-KA020XP0Open, chrome steel, 1/4" section, 2" bore, four-point contact
SB070CP0SP-KB070CP0Open, chrome steel, 5/16" section, 7" bore, radial contact
SG350AR0SP-KG350AR0Open, chrome steel, 1" section, 35" bore, angular contact
JSA025CP0SP-JA025CP0Double sealed, 1/4" section, 2.5" bore, radial contact

So for open bearings, a Silverthin S series (SA, SB, SC, SD, SF, SG) crosses to the SlimPro K series of the same size, and Silverthin sealed JS numbers cross to the SlimPro sealed J series.

The look-alike number to watch

A Silverthin open bearing such as SA020XP0 has exactly the same part number as a Kaydon stainless steel bearing. The two are different bearings: the Silverthin part is chrome steel and crosses to SP-KA020XP0; the Kaydon part is stainless and crosses to SP-SA020XP0.

When you search an S-series number on our interchange table, check the brand column, and when you ask us for a quote, tell us whose bearing it is. If you are not sure, the bearing's marking or packaging, or a quick note of where it came from, settles it.

Sizes we do not list yet

Silverthin also makes series and options outside the 462 listed sizes. Send us the part number, and we will cross it, recommend the nearest SlimPro bearing, or make one to your requirement. We also cross Silverthin slewing ring bearings, including the ST series, which are listed alongside the Kaydon MT series on the interchange page.
